Riding tournament Oswald von Wolkenstein

The largest horse riding show in South Tyrol

The Oswald von Wolkenstein riding tournament takes place every year at the end of May or at the start of June in the Sciliar region. This traditional horse riding show starts at the Trostburg castle in Ponte Gardena, where the famous poet, singer, horse rider and politician Oswald von Wolkenstein spent the majority of his childhood. In Castelrotto, Siusi and Fiè allo Sciliar, you can spur on the riders in their exciting tournament and cheer the winning team during the following celebrations at Castel Presule.

During the autumnal months, many culinary events take place in Fiè allo Sciliar. During the “Völser Kuchlkastl” event in October, participating restaurants serve up hearty dishes belonging to the local cuisine and based on old recipes, which chefs love to refine with the addition of high-quality ingredients. During this time of year, traditional restaurants and wine taverns in the Sciliar area also open their doors and invite you to enjoy the traditional “Törggelen” feast. Homemade specialities such as barley soup, sausages with sauerkraut and sweet fritters are served in atmospheric settings alongside chestnuts and new wines.

The family-run apartment house St. Konstantin is located close to the Alpe di Siusi cable car and is therefore the perfect destination for your winter holiday in South Tyrol.
With the panorama lift Siusi-Alpe di Siusi you can easily and quickly reach the largest ski carousel of Europe, the Dolomiti Superski area. Alpe di Siusi is one of the most snow-sure ski areas in South Tyrol. More than 240 ha of skiing area, 23 modern lifts and 60 km of slopes guarantee skiing fun for everyone. In the area there are two specialized ski schools for adults and children.
Snowboarders will appreciate the Snow Park King Laurin with halfpipe and an own snowboard course surrounded by a fantastic landscape.
After an eventful day of skiing you can store your winter sports equipment in our ski room. The next morning, you can slip into your pre-warmed ski boots and enjoy the day.
The shuttle bus stop is only a 3-minute walk away and will take you directly to the panorama lift in 5 minutes.

This Nordic sport is one of the most popular leisure activities in the Sciliar area, thanks to the endless kilometres of slopes located on the Alpe di Siusi, Europe's largest high plateau. The lovers of this sport will be fascinated by the 60 km of well-prepared cross-country ski runs through the marvellous snowy landscape, the winter sun and the crystal clear mountain air. The cross-country ski stars from Finland and Norway also appreciate Alpe di Siusi, as they organize their training camp in our region every year.

Enjoy moonlight tobogganing or a funny toboggan run on the Alpe di Siusi or on the near Alpe Tuff.
In the Alpe di Siusi holiday area, eleven toboggan slopes are waiting for you, promising fun for young and old. First you can hike through the snow-covered winter landscape of the Sciliar area and admire the beauty of the snow-covered mountain peaks. Afterwards, you can seat on your toboggan and hurtle down the slope. Toboggans can be rented at the stations of the chairlifts.
